What is Guidance?
Guidance is a company's own forecast for its coming sales, profit or other results, usually given with quarterly earnings. Investors often weigh it more heavily than the quarter just reported, because it describes the period ahead. Raising guidance is read as confidence; cutting it is read as a warning.
