What is Upgrade / downgrade?
An upgrade is an analyst raising a rating on a stock, for example from Hold to Buy; a downgrade is the reverse. Ratings compare a stock with its peers or the market. A downgrade can come with a higher price target when the analyst thinks the stock is worth more but has less room left to gain.
