What is After hours (AH)?

After-hours trading runs from 4 to 8 p.m. ET, after the regular session closes. Far fewer buyers and sellers take part, which means a few large orders can move prices more than they would during the day. After-hours moves often shrink or reverse once the full market opens at 9:30 a.m.
